Quwm Bah YAH

The Simple Truth

Many people believe that the song and phrase, qum bah yah, simply means 'come by here'. The story told is that Catholic missionaries in Africa attempted to teach the people there how to say, "Come by here Lord" but because of their language and accents they were unable to say it properly and so say, 'qum bah yah' (Often incorrectly spelled as 'kumbaya').

That is simply nonsense. All three of these words come from the ancient scriptural language - what the people of YHWH spoke, it is what most scripture was originally written in and its roots can be found in the Ancient Pictographs.


What exactly DOES the phrase 'Quwm Bah YAH' mean?

• The word 'QUWM' (spelled QWM and prnounced as 'qoom') means 'to rise up or stand up' in the sense of paying attention, rising up to do something in response to something etc.
• The word 'BAH' means 'to come and fill an empty or dark space - whether that empty space is a heart, a mind, a place, a life or a soul, to approach and fill, to be present'
• The word YAH is not 'just a word' and it does 'not' mean 'lord'. YAH is the contracted version of the one and only, eternal (past, present and future) Name of the Creator - the mighty one, the strong shepherd, YHWH
• The words 'quwm bah YAH' are a pleading and praying and they mean: rise up and come fill this emptiness YHWH

Knowing what these beautiful and precious words TRULY mean - look again and some of the most common verses and see how much sense the truth makes.

It is very similar to many of the psalms and prayers found in the Old Testament scriptures when a person was pleading with YAH to see them, to hear their crying, to rise up and come to their aid filling them and their circumstance with Himself, his love, His healing, His presence: (See Psalm 4:1, 18:3, 50:15, 86:7, 99:6 and 116:2 as examples).

Today children of YHWH of every race, age, background and sex - in many different countries all over the world  are calling out to YHWH once again to rise up and come fill the empty void, in themselves, their countries, their lives and to be filled with Him, to be truly free! They are calling on Him as their eyes open and they begin to see the empty darkness that covers this earth.
